Attorney to donate hoodies to students for MLK Day march

Attorney David Femminineo has announced plans to donate sweatshirts to students, teachers and staff members in the Mount Clemens School District who take partipate in a walk next week in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Working and living in Macomb County, having my office in Mount Clemens, I have been made to feel a part of this wonderful community and it is important to show my support to our students and staff as well as celebrating the life of Dr. King,” Femminineo said in a news release last week.

Femminineo said he planned to give away more than 1,000 hooded sweatshirts at Mount Clemens High School. Students then plan to march to nearby Grace Episcopal Church as part of MLK Day observances.


State Bar accepting nominations for Rep Assembly awards

Nominations are now being accepted for two State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly awards honoring attorneys for their outstanding achievements. 

The Michael Franck Award honors a Michigan attorney for their contribution to the improvement of the legal profession. The Unsung Hero Award honors a Michigan attorney who exhibits the highest standards of practice and commitment for the benefit of others. Both awards are given annually.

Nominations forms are available online at www.michbar.org/generalinfo/awards and are due by Saturday, February 26. 

Nominees for the awards must be State Bar of Michigan members in good standing. The honors can be for contributions made in the past year or by virtue of cumulative effort or service. 

The Representative Assembly’s Nomination and Awards Committee will review the nominations and select the recipients.

JBAM webinar focuses on bankruptcy trends
