Reviewing wrongful conviction claims

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced this week that attorney Gail Pamukov will lead the county’s new Conviction Integrity Unit. Pamukov, pictured with Lucido at a news conference Monday in Mt. Clemens, served as pro bono attorney for Kenneth Wyniemko, who was exonerated in 2003 after being wrongfully convicted of rape and serving nine years behind bars. “The unit is critical to ensuring justice and will work diligently to identity, remedy and prevent wrongful convictions,” Lucido said.
