Film Forum to present "Anatomy of a Murder"

The Heartland Independent Film Forum will present a special screening of the film Anatomy of a Murder on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. The film will be shown at the Harbor Cinema, 1937 Lakeshore Drive in Lakeside.
Tickets are $5 per person.

Based on the best-selling novel by Michigan Supreme Court Justice John D. Voelker (writing as Robert Traver), Anatomy of a Murder depicts the events surrounding the infamous Lumberjack Tavern Murder, an actual criminal case in which Voelker appeared for the defense.

Rated one of the best trial films of all time by the American Bar Association, and certainly the most famous film ever shot in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, this 1959 Otto Preminger classic is a must for anyone interested in one of our state's great courtroom dramas.

It stars James Stewart, Lee Remick, Ben Gazzara, Arthur O’Connell, Eve Arden and Kathryn Grant.

In addition, the film classic will be preceded by a talk-back on real-life courtroom drama led by Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson,  who will stick around for an after-film Q & A.

The purpose of the Heartland Independent Film Forum is to promote the production and distribution of award-winning independent films in the American midwest.
