A famous football coach at a Muskegon Big Reds basketball game?
Yes, if said coach is looking at a couple of all-around athletes who play both on the football field and on the courts.
It is no secret that junior Cameron Martinez has already been recruited by University of Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh to play next year. But, as reported by the Local Sports Journal, Harbaugh (who is prevented from saying by NCAA rules) may also be looking to extend an offer to junior Billie Roberts. This even though Roberts already has an offer from Michigan State.
Speaking with Harbaugh as the visit caused a sensation in the crowd was Larry Schillaci, who was prominently featured in coverage by mLive, and is the husband of former Examiner interim editor and frequent reporter Donna Schillaci.
Schillaci, commuted to Ann Arbor for several years to volunteer at University of Michigan football games. He gave that up only when he agreed to become the announcer for the Big Reds football games two years ago.
“Jim Harbaugh is just so nice,” Donna Schillaci commented. “Everybody kept coming up to him because they wanted to say hi, and he was nice to every single one.”
