Remembering World War II:
The Ghost Mountain Boys and the Forgotten War of the South Pacific
6 p.m., November 18
The Army’s 32nd ‘Red Arrow’ Infantry Division were assigned the most grueling mission of the entire Pacific Campaign: with little training or supplies for jungle conditions, march 130 miles over the Owen Stanley Mountains of New Guinea and drive back the Japanese forces. Many men in this unit were from the Muskegon area. Join MCC History Instructor George Maniates and James Campbell, author of The Ghost Mountain Boys, as they discuss this harrowing mission. Movie Pop Quiz
Every week in December a different movie quote will be posted at all Branch Libraries and on our Facebook page. If you guess the quote correctly, your name will be entered in a drawing for a refillable Wesco popcorn bucket filled with goodies. You can make your guess and enter once per week. Open to all ages.
