Art Exhibit: Charles LaRue – “In Dialog With My Surroundings”

This exhibit runs to August 2, at the Frauenthal Center, 425 W. Western Avenue, Suite 200, Muskegon. The artist describes the exhibit as, “Depictions on how the familiar and commonplace can take on new interest when one unlocks the light, shapes, and patterns in them.”

The Reception Gallery, on the 2nd floor of the Hilt Building within the Frauenthal Center, showcases a variety of art from local and regional artists. Admission is free and exhibits change on a regular basis.

Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m.  to  5 p.m., weekdays.


John Ball Zoo Virtual Program: ‘Penguineering’ on July 8

This will be a virtual Zoom program with Hackley Library, 3 p.m., on Thursday, July 8.

Explore habitats and classification as it relates to Magellanic Penguin!

Kids will enjoy this interactive lesson that will challenge them to build their own penguin nests and test it against the environmental elements to see if their nests can make the cut.

Summer Book Talks: ‘Cross River Rivals’ by Author Dan Yakes

Summer Book Talks: Cross River Rivals by Dan Yakes is set for 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 7.

The Friends of the Montague Library have been hosting author books talks for over 20 years. This year, they will once again partner with MADL and The Book Nook to bring their Summer Book Talks to everyone.
