BHM Gospel Kick Off Event set February 1

Celebrate the beginning of Black History Month with a free kick-off event at Hackley Library, featuring  an evening of music from Chiquetta “Chi Chi” Woods and Jeremy Jake Harris, with samplings of Black History trivia throughout the night.

The event is set 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 1.

Limited seating is available – Register  if you’d like to attend in-person. The program will also be available via Zoom (register your email address to be sent a Zoom link).

Tiff Massey ‘Jewelry Box’

MMA Exhibit runs to February 20

This exhibit will run through February 20. Multimedia artist and metalsmith Tiff Massey makes art and jewelry inspired by 1980s hip-hop fashion and her experiences living in Detroit.

Drawing from her “Everyday Arsenal” series, Massey transforms the MMA’s Olthoff Gallery into a flashy display of massive hip-hop jewelry, gold, and mirrors in a dynamic exploration of self-identity and fashion.

West Michigan Symphony to present
Carnival of Pianos today

The West Michigan Symphony will present the Carnival of Pianos, 7:30 p.m., today, with conductor Scott Speck and pianist Alessio Bax and his spouse and artistic partner Lucille Chung.

Tickets: are $25 to $62, students: $10.
