Judge Tabbey swears in Paul Bunten as president of police chiefs association

Paul Bunten, chief of the Saline Police Department, was sworn in last week as president of the Southeastern Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police in Redford. Police chiefs from throughout the Southeast Michigan region attended the luncheon gathering. Bunten asked 14A District Court Chief Judge Kirk Tabbey if he would administer the oath of office to Bunten and the other association officers.
Bunten said the organization’s goals include, to enhance improvement of law enforcement through the cooperation of public and private agencies whose function is the protection of life and property; to encourage professional recruitment, selection and training of qualified law enforcement personnel; to promote the adoption and adherence to high professional law enforcement standards of conduct; to stimulate increased citizen interest in law enforcement through good public relations;  to aid in the adoption of statues, good police practices, and the general welfare and safety of the public.
