Three-peat is sweet - for one foursome

The Washtenaw County Bar Association’s 22nd annual Golf Scramble was another success, as teams filled the new location at The Polo Fields Golf & Country Club in Ypsilanti.

A light breeze kept conditions comfortable as the golfers enjoyed lunch, 18 holes of golf, and a buffet dinner in the evening.

Winners for a third consecutive year was the team of (at left): Yaacov Rubin, Steve Tramontin, Bob Babcock and Bob Barnett, who scored a 59 on the 18 holes. Tramontin insists that it’s not that the four are such great golfers, but because their strengths complement each other. The team won a traveling trophy and tickets for another 18 holes of golf at the course.

Other winners included Jackie Garris and Ben Muth for longest drives, and Rachel Bender and Mark French for closet to pin.

Eddie Crescentini—a last minute fill-in on Matt Jane’s team—was double lucky in the raffle, winning both a Citizen watch and two Tigers tickets. Michael LeGris won a 19-inch HDTV, and Jim Cmerek won a golf bag courtesy of FindLaw.
