The Washtenaw County all-attorney band Soultivity held its Rockin’ Christmas Party on Dec. 11, at the Necto Nightclub in downtown Ann Arbor, drawing a crowd of close to 200.

Admission was free with a donation of a new, unwrapped children’s toy for Toys for Tots and Community Action Network; protein-rich dry goods for Food Gatherers; and items for the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
The event brought in 448 pounds of food, 29 bags of toys, and a large quantity of pet-related donations, as well as cash donations.

Crucial to the success is the hard work of Dianna Collins, Karen Field and Amy Reiser, assisted by Rachelle Wilson.

“As always, the local legal community, as well as friends and family, really stepped up and donated to our charities to make the evening a huge success,” said Collins, who received a number of donations before the event from people unable to attend. “It’s really gratifying to imagine all those toys, 29 bags worth, getting into the hands of area children to make their Christmas really special.”

Bandleader John Reiser added, “The food and pet donations also are greatly welcomed. What an amazing response. Organizers and the band want to say a big thank you to everyone who donated.”
