In Memoriam Walter B. Ranney

Attorney Walter B. Ranney died Sept. 25 after a long battle with cancer.

He practiced law for 37 years in Washtenaw County and was a longtime member of the WCBA.

Of Counsel to Ferguson Widmayer in Ann Arbor, Ranney’s work emphasized real property law, estate planning, probate law, and corporate law.

He was a member of the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section and Probate and Estate Planning Section; and the WCBA Real Estate Section, Probate and Estate Planning Section, and Business Law Section.

Ranney earned his undergrad degree, with high distinction, from the University of Michigan, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
