Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., has again been recognized as a top-tier law firm by U.S. News and World Report and Best Lawyers in the eighth annual edition of “Best Law Firms,” with Brinks receiving five national rankings and twelve metropolitan rankings.
The 2018 “Best Law Firms” list ranks Brinks nationally in Tier 1, the highest level, in the category of Patent Law for the eighth year in a row, in the category of Trademark Law for the sixth year in a row, and in the category of Litigation-Intellectual Property. The firm achieved a national Tier 2 ranking in Litigation-Patent.
Individual Brinks offices, including Ann Arbor, also received top rankings at the metropolitan level. The Ann Arbor office was again ranked in Tier 1 in Patent Law. Steven L. Oberholtzer, Managing Shareholder of the Ann Arbor office, with extensive experience as an attorney and engineer in the automotive industry, was recognized in August 2017 by Best Lawyers as patent law “Lawyer of the Year” for Ann Arbor.
To be eligible for “Best Law Firms,” a firm must have at least one attorney listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers in America, which recognizes the top four percent of practicing attorneys in the US. Fifteen Brinks attorneys, including Oberholtzer, were honored with that designation for 2018.
