Andrew S. Balazer has joined Bodman’s growing Patent Practice Group and Intellectual Property Practice Group, and is based on the firm’s Ann Arbor office.

Balazar counsels clients in patent matters, including global patent portfolio strategy, obtaining utility and design patent protection, addressing infringement risk, handling licensing and transactional matters, and consulting on other IP issues.

He began his private practice legal career in the intellectual property department of an AmLaw 50 global law firm where he focused on patent counseling and preparation/prosecution with a particular emphasis on mechanical and electromechanical technologies.

Balazer is a magna cum laude graduate of DePaul University College of Law. He holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and worked as an engineer in the automotive industry before becoming an attorney.
