Community members, employees, staff and supporters of Community Action Agency and Consumers Energy braved bone-chilling temps on Feb. 20 to take part in the 2015 CAA Walk for Warmth, the fourth annual event raising awareness about the importance of utility assistance in local communities. More than 900 people registered to walk and raised $51,575, which includes donations plus the company’s match. Consumers Energy employees are taking part in more than 30 Walks for Warmth this year, with most taking place this month. Consumers encourages people to call 2-1-1 if they need assistance or call Consumers at 800-477-5050 if they have concerns about paying bills. The company also encourages neighbors to check in on each other in these Arctic temperatures. (l-r) Consumers employees Clay McAndrews and Ian Burgess get ready to lead the parade.
