City Cleanup Day set for Sept. 28

The City of Jackson City Cleanup Day is slated for 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday, September 28, at the Department of Public Works (DPW) Operations Center, 521 Water St. The event is free and open to all City of Jackson residents.

Drivers should stay in their vehicles and drive through organized lines to drop off zones, entering using the intersection of Water and E. Morrell streets.

Once in line, drivers will be directed to drop off zones. Residents are asked to assist DPW workers with removal of items from vehicles if they are able.
When unloading is complete, drivers should exit the area using E. Franklin Street.

Yard waste, such as grass clippings and brush are accepted, along with general household trash like boxes and furniture.

 The following will not be accepted: Batteries, tires, kitchen garbage, paint, liquid waste, appliances that contain or have contained freon, hazardous waste, electronics, motor oil.

Staff will check bags to make sure they do not contain prohibited items.
