Wayne Law to induct new members into Alumni Wall of Fame

Wayne State University Law School will honor five distinguished alumni at its Alumni Wall of Fame induction ceremony on Tuesday, April 22.

This year’s inductees have made a lasting impact in their fields, reflecting the excellence and leadership of Wayne Law alumni. The honorees are:

• Kathryn J. Humphrey (J.D. ’80)

• Shirley A. Kaigler (LL.M. ’93)

• E. Powell Miller (J.D. ’86)

• Robert A. Sedler (Distinguished Professor of Law)

• Angelo V. Vitale (J.D. ’83)

Each inductee has made significant contributions to the legal profession and legal education and has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing the mission of Wayne State University Law School.

The Wayne Law Alumni Wall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the Law School. This distinction is awarded to alumni who have excelled in their profession or contributed meaningfully to society, as well as to former faculty and staff who have made a lasting impact on the Law School.

In addition to celebrating the newest inductees, the Law School will present the Donald H. Gordon Award for Excellence in Teaching, established by friends of Donald H. Gordon, who served as dean of Wayne Law from 1975 to 1980. This year’s recipient is Vincent A. Wellman, associate professor of law.

The event will take place at the Law School from 5 to 7 p.m. and will bring together members of the legal community, faculty, alumni, and supporters to recognize the achievements of this year’s honorees.

Guests will have the opportunity to connect over food and drinks while celebrating the contributions of these accomplished individuals.

Parking is available for $9.50 (credit or debit only) in Parking Structure No. 1, located across West Palmer Street from the Law School. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is now open.
