Board meetings soon to be available online and on local access cable

On Thursday, Sept. 22, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners began recording one of its three 2011 meetings that will be cablecasted county-wide through a partnership with local communities. At no cost, this free service is made possible by Orion Neighborhood Television on behalf of the Orion Community Cable Communications Commission, the Bloomfield Community Television on behalf of the Birmingham Area Cable Board, and the Civic Center Media, LLC on behalf of the Greater West Bloomfield Cable Communications Commission. These cable partners will each provide coverage of one meeting in 2011 and will distribute each recording to local cable access channels throughout the county. In addition, to the Sept. 22nd meeting, the Oct. 20th and Nov. 30th meetings will be covered. Members of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Webcasting Committee consisting of Commissioners Kathy Crawford, Jeff Matis and Gary McGillivray, along with the support of the full board have been instrumental in making cablecasting possible for 2011. Residents will be able to view the meetings on their local public access or governmental access channel. They should check their local channel for scheduling information. At the Sept. 22nd meeting, the Board discussed the County's Triennial Budget. To view this meeting, residents can go to the video archives at GWBCCC web site at civiccentertv.com. and orionontv.com Listed below are the cable commission and boards that will provide coverage to the following communities: * Greater West Bloomfield Cable Communications Commission which provides service to the communities of Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, and West Bloomfield. * Township Birmingham Area Cable Board which provides service to Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin. * Orion Community Cable Communications Commission which provides service to communities of Lake Orion and Orion Township.
