FLINT (AP) -- Police say they arrested four Saginaw residents after two of them flew into Flint's Bishop Airport from Phoenix with 150 pounds of marijuana in their checked luggage.
Saginaw police Chief Gerald Cliff said at a news conference Tuesday that two suspects flew to Arizona on Friday from MBS International Airport in Saginaw County's Tittabawassee Township. The airport serves the Midland, Bay City and Saginaw areas.
The Saginaw News reports that Cliff says the two flew to Flint on a Delta Air Lines on Monday with the drugs.
Cliff says the marijuana bricks were packed in vacuum-sealed plastic wrap and covered with sheets soaked in detergent to mask the smell.
Cliff says he's surprised the Transportation Security Administration didn't detect the marijuana when it scanned the luggage in Phoenix.
