On Monday, June 4, officials from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Oakland County, and the city of Auburn Hills gathered to celebrate the school’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for renovations to an existing structure and an addition to the Cooley Auburn Hills campus.
On hand for the celebration were (left to right) William Schoettle, Cooley COO and vice president of operations; Don LeDuc, Cooley president and dean; John Nussbaumer, Cooley-Auburn Hills associate dean; Jim Chatas, SHW Group Architects-Engineers; Shane Napper, Rockford Construction; L. Brooks Patterson, Oakland County executive; and James McDonald, city of Auburn Hills mayor.
The campus, located at 2630 Featherstone Road, was designed and constructed in collaboration with Rockford Construction and SHW Group Architects-Engineers.
Renovations to an existing 68,227-square-foot building, previously owned by Daimler Chrysler, began in 2007 and opened to students in January 2008.
An additional 64,518-square-foot structure was added to the existing building and completed in 2009.
