Pro Bono Pledge

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Joan E. Young (center) and Oakland County 46th District Court Judge William Richards (not pictured) administered the Cooley Voluntary Pro Bono Pledge to Thomas M. Cooley Law School students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local attorneys.

More than 50 individuals took the pledge at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus during two separate ceremonies on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Those who participated pledged their support of Cooley Law School’s commitment to pro bono legal services.

The pledge included a commitment to complete at least one pro bono activity during the upcoming year and either continue to do so every year throughout their legal careers or to comply with or exceed the pro bono expectations of their state bar association.

Thanking Young following the pledge ceremony were (left to right) students Carol D’agostino and Andrew Rarus; Ieisha Evans, assistant director of Cooley’s Center for Ethics, Service, and Professionalism; students Ulises Macias Robles and Stephanie Walczak; and Cooley Auburn Hills Associate Dean John Nussbaumer.
