Free seminar presented by Probate Court, Oct. 30
On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the Oakland County Probate Court will conduct a free seminar entitled "Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court" at the Richardson Community Senior Center from 10 a.m. to noon. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. The Richardson Community Senior Center is located at 1485 E. Oakley Park Road in Commerce Township.
The seminar will provide attendees with information on wills, trusts, Powers of Attorney, how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how "avoiding probate" could cause more harm than good.
Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Lisa Walters from Couzens, Lansky, Fealk, Ellis, Roeder, & Lazar in Farmington Hills. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
To register for this free seminar, contact the Richardson Community Senior Center at 248-926-0063. The "Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court" seminar, developed by the Citizens Alliance for the Circuit and Probate Courts, has reached thousands of citizens over the past 20 years. For information regarding other dates and locations for this seminar, contact Karen Koshen, court resource and program specialist for the Oakland County Circuit and Probate Courts, at 248-858-0296 or koshenk@oakgov.com.
