The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court – Eastern District of Michigan, and Access to Bankruptcy Court, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal representation to low income consumer debtors filing for bankruptcy, continued the “Getting Through It: Bankruptcy Basics” program on Wednesday, March 13, at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Detroit.
Among those taking part in the program were (left to right) Patty Klavon, Peter Tomasek, and Alesia Dobbins of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
“We are putting on the ‘Bankruptcy Basics’ seminar so folks who may be filing, and of course facing financial difficulties, can be informed about filing,” said John Zevalking (not pictured), visiting professor at Cooley Law School.
“This is information people filing for bankruptcy, whether they’re going to have an attorney or not, could really use. It’s a great overview of all the forms and some of them can walk out of this presentation prepared to make some decisions about their bankruptcy.”
