Reward offered for leads in 2011 killing of couple
DETROIT (AP) -- A $5,000 reward is being offered for leads in the unsolved killings of a young suburban man and woman who were found shot to death in Detroit in 2011.
Twenty-two-year-old Anthony Velez of Sterling Heights and 19-year-old Rosemary Chyz of Macomb County's Clinton Township were found in a field Oct. 24, 2011. Police say they were tied up and shot in the head.
Authorities say robbery may have been a motive as their pockets were turned out.
WDIV-TV reports that the nonprofit group Crime Stoppers is offering the reward.
