The Negligence Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan provided a look at recent Supreme Court decisions during its annual Supreme Summer Seminar on Thursday, Aug. 8, at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy.
Among those taking part in the event were (left to right) Commerce Township attorney Kevin McNeely; Kimberlee Hillock of Willingham & Coté PC; Drew Slager of Mancini, Schreuder, Kline PC; Steve Galbraith of Galbraith, Delie, & James PC; Jonathan Young of Bodman PLC.
“Historically each July we receive a number of cases at the end of the month and practitioners are usually scrambling to determine how they will impact on their business,” said Galbraith who is vice chair of the Negligence Section.
“For speakers we enlist the aid of the attorneys who actually litigated those cases to the Supreme Court since they know the cases and they can tell us what those cases mean to us and how they’re going to affect our practices.”
The program is put on in conjunction with the Michigan Association for Justice and the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel.
