Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn LLP is pleased to announce that the firm is a major sponsor of the current Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) exhibition titled "Watch Me Move: The Animation Show," which runs now through January 5, 2014. The other principal sponsor is the GM Foundation and additional support has been provided by Quicken Loans and Rock Ventures, LLC.
"Watch Me Move: The Animation Show" comes to the DIA from The Barbican Centre in London. This is the most extensive animation exhibition ever mounted, featuring both iconic moments and lesser-known classics from the last 150 years. More than 100 animated film segments are included from great individual inventors, innovators and artists, including Georges Méliès, Chuck Jones and Tim Burton, as well as studios such as Walt Disney, Aardman, Studio Ghibli and Pixar. The exhibit also features cult figures in animation, who broke boundaries in the field.
In addition, the Detroit Film Theatre is presenting a variety of animated films in conjunction with the "Watch Me Move" exhibition. Visit www.dia.org for more details about the exhibition, museum hours, ticket prices and films.
Honigman has a long and proud history of supporting the DIA. Firm members serve on the Board of Directors, Founders Junior Council, the Robert H. Tannahill Society and a number of the auxiliary groups supporting the museum. In addition, Alan E. Schwartz, one of Honigman's founding attorneys, and his wife, Marianne, have been honored for their contributions to the DIA and, in particular for the endowment of the Schwartz Gallery of Prints and Drawings.
