The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget said Wednesday that June's jobless rate was the same as May's. The rate was 7.4 in April, when it hit the lowest level in six years.
The national rate for June was 6.1 percent, down 0.2 percentage points from May.
Michigan's jobless rate stood at 8.9 percent in June 2013.
The state says that Michigan's civilian labor force was up slightly in June, rising by 1,000 to 4.744 million. It says the number of people working fell 3,000 to 4.386 million.
The state says 357,000 people were unemployed but actively seeking work last month.
