Commissioner to address state commission on women's issues
Oakland County Commissioner Marcia Gershenson will be one of the featured guest speakers at the Michigan Women's Commission meeting today at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing.
Gershenson will share the history of the Oakland County Women's Advisory Board and share the projects the Board has planned for 2015 to enhance the quality of life for Oakland County residents. The state Michigan Women's Commission will provide an update on their priorities of human trafficking, women veterans, women in business and the participation of women on corporate boards.
"This is an exciting opportunity to continue our partnership with the state's women's commission. We are grateful for their continued guidance and mentorship. The Oakland County Women's Advisory Board will meet this month to establish their priorities for 2015," stated Gershenson who also serves as an ex-officio representative to the Oakland County Women's Advisory Board.
