FLINT (AP) - A Flint man has been convicted at a third trial in the 2011 strangulation death of the sister of a Genesee County sheriff's deputy.
The Flint Journal reports a jury last Thursday found 30-year-old Lorenzo Relerford Jr. guilty of first-degree felony murder in the death of 47-year-old Jeanne Hank of Grand Blanc. He faces mandatory life in prison without parole.
Relerford's lawyer tells The Associated Press he doesn't comment on cases.
Jurors convicted Relerford in 2012 of first-degree felony murder and a judge sentenced him to life in prison without parole. The Michigan appeals court in 2013 court threw out the conviction, saying his rights were violated when the jury saw his leg shackles.
A second trial ended last year in a mistrial after jurors couldn't reach a verdict.
