DETROIT (AP) - The wife of a federal judge who was shot as he retrieved a trash can in front of his Detroit home says a second operation on his leg went well, but his recovery will take some time
Fifty-five-year-old U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg was shot in the right leg last Thursday night when two would-be robbers accosted him as he retrieved a trash container.
He underwent one operation last Friday and a second procedure Monday at Detroit's Sinai Grace Hospital.
Anita Sevier tells The Detroit News that her husband "came through well and has a long recovery road."
The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction. No arrests have been reported.
