A lecture on “President Obama’s Executive Actions on Immigration” is being conducted with Professor Jon Weinberg on Tuesday, March 25, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, 471 W. Palmer, Detroit.
Obama recently announced an initiative to give administrative immigration relief to about four million people currently in the U.S. without authorization. In response, the House of Representatives passed a bill seeking to block him, and twenty states, four governors, and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette have joined a lawsuit urging that the president’s action is unconstitutional. What does the president propose to do, and does he have the authority to do it?
The cost to attend the event is free and lunch will be provided. For additional information about this event, contact Rachel Margiewicz at 313-577-2750 or cm4482@wayne.edu.
