The Metropolitan Detroit Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) hosted a member meeting and presentation on Thursday, April 16, at Andiamo in Bloomfield Township. Guest speaker John Reed (third form right) of Rain BDM discussed “How Legal Administrators and Professional Staff Can Drive Business Development.” Welcoming Reed to the lunch were (left to right) ALA Director of Membership Denise Doherty, ALA Immediate Past President Larry Halicki, ALA Co-director of Education, Meetings, & Publicity Cara Blazek, ALA Newsletter Chairperson Lyn Calu, ALA President Cynthia Whitcomb, ALA Diversity Chairperson Laura Davis, and ALA Co-director of Education, Meetings, & Publicity Dawn Fraczek. “We’re going to be talking about different ways that the non-attorney folks at a law firm can contribute to marketing and business development either assisting lawyers or in their own right doing their own efforts and activities,” Reed noted.
