Officials to honor Farmington Hills youth and services director

On Wednesday, October 7, Oakland County commissioners will honor Todd Lipa, the recipient of the USA Unites Award from the USA  Brighthouse Network, at the Oakland County Board of Commissioners meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Lipa will receive a proclamation recognizing his recent award and outstanding work on behalf of the City of Farmington Hills. He currently serves as the City of Farmington Hills Youth and Services Director and is credited for the community’s low juvenile delinquency rates as a result of initiating in 1995 an afterschool program that he worked closely with the mayor to create.

“Todd Lipa has served the Farmington Hills community with distinction and his worked has helped to provide a safe space with learning options for young people that has deterred many youth from juvenile crimes,” stated former Farmington Hills Police chief and current Oakland County Commissioner Bill Dwyer.

Lipa will receive a proclamation from Commissioners Bill Dwyer, Marcia Gershenson, Janet Jackson, and Helaine Zack at the Board’s 7 p.m. meeting which will be held in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac.
