Three Wayne State University Law School alumni will speak about immigration law on Tuesday, Jan. 24, as part of Wayne Law’s Alumni Speakers Series.
The event will take place from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall 2242 of the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights at the law school, 471 W. Palmer St. Lunch will be provided. The event is free, but registration is required. Register at law.wayne.edu/alumnispeakers2017. Parking is available for $7.50 (credit and debit cards only) in Parking Structure No. 1 across West Palmer Street from the law school.
Featured alumni will be:
• Debra Auerbach Clephane, class of 1991, a shareholder at The Murray Law Group where she advises both U.S. and non-U.S. employers who seek to employ foreign nationals in the U.S. She also has experience facilitating the employment of U.S. workers abroad.
• Leila Freijy, class of 1997, attorney at Law Office of Leila Freijy PLLC. Freijy specializes primarily in business immigration. She has extensive experience in providing on-site training for human resources professionals on U.S. immigration law and compliance, and in conducting in-house I-9 audits.
• Anthony L. Ray, class of 1999, attorney at Ray Law International, where he has more than a decade of experience working with corporations, professionals and families to meet their immigration needs and goals both here in the U.S. and abroad. He routinely handles a variety of immigration issues, including H-visas, E-visas, P-visas, L-visas, O-visas and green card applications.
• Assistant Professor Rachel Settlage, director of the Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic, will moderate the discussion. She teaches Immigration and Nationality Law.
