On February 2, Western Michigan University Cooley Law School’s Hand House academic organization hosted Richard Sulaka (center), general counsel for Detroit Water and Sewage Department, to speak to student about career advice and success. Happy to welcome Sulaka to the Auburn Hills campus were (left to right) Guy Cotter and Ryan McKennon of WMU-Cooley Hand House; WMU-Cooley Professors Linda Kisabeth and Monica Nuckolls; and Wanda Roberts and Arturo Alfaro of WMU-Cooley Law School Hand House. Sulaka is a 2013 WMU-Cooley Law School graduate and was recently honored as one of Crain’s Detroit “40 Under 40” professionals. Sulaka discussed how in three years after graduating law school, he achieved his current position as one of the youngest municipal government executives in the country. “If you work hard and prepare, like how you are taught at WMU Cooley Law School, your legal niche and success will find you,” said Sulaka.
