Federal Trade Secrets Act focus of FBA program, April 12

The Intellectual Property Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, will present a seminar to learn about the new Federal Trade Secrets Act on Wednesday, April 12, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Room 115 of the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 West Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit.

Speaking at the program will be Professor Sharon Sandeen of Mitchell Hamline School of Law, an internationally recognized expert on trade secret law.  Among other achievements, Sandeen wrote the first casebook on trade secret law in the United States.

Attendees will learn how the act creates a federal civil cause of action for trade secret misappropriation and how it will increase the number of trade secret cases in federal court.  Attendees will also learn best practices for judges and practitioners in the trade secret cases.

Cost is $25 for FBA members, $30 for non-members, and free for judges and judicial law clerks.  Lunch will be provided.  Register online at www.fbamich.org.  For additional information, contact Christopher G. Darrow at darrow@darrowiplaw.com or 248-864-5961.
