On Thursday, Oct. 5, the Oakland County Probate Court, sponsored by the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts, will be conducting a free seminar titled “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” in conjunction with Auburn Hills Senior Services, from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. Auburn Hills Senior Services is located at 1827 N. Squirrel Road in Auburn Hills.
The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and will provide useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.
Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Robert Isgrigg Jr. from the Law Offices of Schmidt, Isgrigg, Anderson, & Miller in Waterford. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
To register for this free seminar, contact Auburn Hills Senior Services at 248-370-9353.
