Western Michigan University Cooley Law School faculty, staff, and students on the law school’s Auburn Hills campus came together with the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center on Sept. 27 to bring shelter dogs on campus for the Fitness Unleashed program. During the program, students were able to treat the dogs with one-on-one attention and walks through the trails of the campus’ spacious 67 wooded acres. The partnership between WMU-Cooley and the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center was formed in 2015 when the law school presented a check from its annual spring charity event to the center. More than $4,000 was donated to benefit the center’s Legacy Fund, which provides vaccines, specialty foods and emergency medical treatment for animals in the shelter.
