The Michigan Supreme Court mourns the loss of longtime Court Crier David G. Palazzolo. Palazzolo who worked for the court since 1980, passed away at his home on October 14 after a brief illness.
“The court has lost a dedicated and loyal public servant,” said Chief Justice Stephen J. Markman. “For those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Dave, we have lost a dear friend and coworker. Dave was instrumental in keeping the court on track as the court crier, and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
The court crier opens and closes all official Supreme Court sessions and is also responsible for overseeing in-house mail processing, printing, state surplus, and building issues.
A uneral mass was held Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamston.
