On Dec.7, The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History (The Wright Museum) awarded Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Craig Strong and his membership committee Certificates of Appreciation for their tireless commitment, steadfast dedication and generous fundraising in support of The Wright Museum. Strong has been a supporter of the museum for more than four decades.
“Judge Craig Strong is an eternal advocate for the museum, the initiator of countless membership drives and a true Wright Angel,” said Eric Peterson, chair of The Wright Museum’s Board of Trustees. “Because of generous supporters like him, the museum will continue to lead, educate and inspire for generations to come.”
More than 40 years ago, Strong began a grassroots fundraising effort to help the museum. From passing the hat among friends, neighbors, people in the community and at local events, to raising money to get a new furnace in the 1970s, to creating an annual membership drive that is still going strong after more than 30 years. His ongoing service has been invaluable in fulfilling The Wright Museum’s mission.
