'Work/Life Balance' focus of seminar offered by OCBA, March 27

A seminar titled “Work/Life Balance” will be offered by the Oakland County Bar Association on Tuesday, March 27, at 6 p.m. in the OCBA offices, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd., suite 100, in Bloomfield Hills. The seminar is part of the OCBA’s ongoing Law Practice Management Series.

Attorney Tish Vincent, program admininstrator of the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program at the State Bar of Michigan, will be the featured speaker, discussing stress management and lifestyle balance for busy lawyers.

Vincent will discuss the triggers and often-missed signs of stress and how to alleviate them. She also will detail assistance programs available through the State Bar of Michigan.

“Given the proliferation of ways clients can now reach their attorneys 24/7, the attorneys’ need to maintain and grow a law practice, and the adversarial character of the law in general, it is easy to understand how lawyers can be stressed out,” said a spokesperson for the OCBA. “Indeed, the statistics on anxiety, substance abuse, and depression in the legal profession are noteworthy.”

Pre-registration is recommended because seating is limited. Pre-registration for this lecture ends March 26, however, walk-ins are welcome. To register, go to www.ocba.org/events.
