Committee donates to charity at baseball outing

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) New Lawyers Committee (NLC) hosted a baseball outing on Thursday, June 14, at Jimmy John’s Field in Utica. Prior to the game between the Utica Unicorns and the Eastside Diamond Hoppers, the committee presented a check to Hope Against Trafficking which was the NLC’s selected charity this year.  The NLC chooses an Oakland County charity to raise money for throughout the year. Funds were raised from NLC events such as the Summer Splash, Novemberfest, Board of Directors bowling Challenge, and Meet the Judges Party/Silent Auction. As a result of these efforts, the NLC was honored to present Hope Against Trafficking with a check for $5,000. Taking part in the on-field check presentation before the ball game were (left to right) OCBA Membership Director Katie Tillinger; Lucas Tillinger; Jamie Martone of Dickinson Wright PLLC; NLC Chair John Martone of Clark Hill PLC; Mark Johnson of Bush, Seyferth, & Paige PLLC; Jim Hayes; Alysia Hubbard of Hope Against Trafficking; Pam Krugman; Joey Kosovec; and Julie Kosovec of Brooks, Wilkins, Sharkey, & Turco PLLC.  Hope Against Trafficking is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization answering the call for safe housing and restorative support for adult female survivors of sex and labor trafficking in Southeast Michigan.
