On Wednesday, Jan. 9, the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Federalist Society hosted attorney Alan Gura (second from right) and Wayne State University Law School Professor Robert Sedler (second from left) for a Second Amendment debate. Gura, who was named among the 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America by the National Law Journal in 2013, is known for successfully arguing landmark cases such as Heller and McDonald in front of the United States Supreme Court. Sedler is a Constitutional Law expert who has litigated a large number of civil rights and civil liberties cases as a volunteer lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union.
