Combat Veterans' Treatment Court honors class

The latest graduating class of the Combat Veterans’ Treatment Court in Oakland County was honored Tuesday, Dec. 10, during a graduation ceremony in the courtroom of Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Nanci Grant (center) at the Oakland County Courthouse in Pontiac.  In 2013, Grant founded the state’s only Combat Veterans’ Treatment Court (C-VTC).  Recognizing the need for such a court, the judge set about assembling a team of experts across various disciplines to comprise the C-VTC team.  Among those attending the Dec. 10 program were (left to right) Elias Escobedo of Elias J. Escobedo Jr. PLLC, Lauren Chamberlin of Oakland County Veteran’s Services, Nanette Colling of Veteran’s Administration, Chaka McDonald of Oakland Community Health Network, program mentor Modesto De La ‘O, Denice Reeves-Cook of Michigan Department of Corrections, Oakland County Circuit Court Deputy Court Administrator Pam Monville, and Cheryl Werner of Oakland County Circuit Court.
