On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Lisa Brown, along with Ngoc T. Do from Vibe Credit Union, presented the 2020 Oakland County Directory Cover Contest winner, Aspen Snyder, with a $500 check. The theme of the contest was Oakland County’s bicentennial.
“We have so many talented students in Oakland County and I was thrilled to see it firsthand in the submissions. Aspen’s attention to detail and expression of the theme made her watercolor painting stand out,” said Brown.
The contest was open to all high school students residing in Oakland County. Brown has had two cover contests in the past, but this is the first one that Vibe Credit Union has supported. “I appreciate Vibe’s partnership. I wanted this cover to be special for our bicentennial.” Brown added. “I’m grateful to Aspen’s family and educators for supporting her and encouraging her to enter; and I’m especially grateful to Aspen for entering the contest and sharing her talent with all of us.”
Snyder, an Oakland County resident, is a junior at Milford High School. Her artwork will appear on more than 12,500 directories.
