• 2:50 to 3:50 p.m.—Legal Aspects of Health Inequalities: Assisting Clients in Improving Access to, and Provision of Quality Healthcare for the Disenfranchised with speakers: Julie Janeway of Janeway Law PLLC; Linda Weirauch, senior director of Quality Management, Risk and Infection Control, Select Specialty Hospital, Flint; and Anushalie Dias Weerasinha, Procurement and Vendor Support, Michigan Medicine Health System.
This presentation will provide an overview of disenfranchised and marginalized groups and access to quality healthcare. Groups include racial, ethnic, and religious minorities, the poor, those who identify as LGBTQIA, Medicaid/Medicare recipients, veterans, those with mental health issues and substance abuse disorders, the differently-abled, and others.
