Applications for Michigan Judicial Council due May 7

The Michigan Supreme Court is currently accepting applications to appoint three attorneys (licensed in Michigan) to the Michigan Judicial Council (MJC).

The MJC was recently created via MCR 8.128 and will be responsible for planning strategically for the Michigan judicial branch, enhancing the work of the courts, and making recommendations to the Michigan Supreme Court on matters pertinent to the administration of justice.

The MJC will convene in July 2021, and embark upon a strategic planning process, which will include visioning, analyzing trends, and developing strategic goals for advancing judicial branch improvements. Additional information about the MJC can be found in the application instructions.

Interested attorneys can apply by downloading and completing the Non-Judge Appointment Application found at https://courts.michigan.gov/Courts/MichiganSupremeCourt/mijudicialcouncil/Pages/MJC-application.aspx. Completed applications must be emailed to Ryan Gamby at gambyr@courts.mi.gov no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7. Anyone with questions can call 517-373-2514.
