'Appellate Specialists Conference' presented online

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM) will conduct the virtual "Appellate Specialists Conference" Monday through Wednesday, October 18-20, via Zoom.
This three day virtual conference, presented by the Michigan Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council, is for APAs who devote a substantial amount of their practice to appellate work, with some sessions open to all trial attorneys. The Michigan Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council is a state agency that heads the Office of Prosecuting Attorney Coordination-an autonomous entity within the Department of Attorney General.
Some topics planned for the conference include:
- Michigan's Sentencing Guidelines
- Issue Preservation: What it is and Effective Strategies for Using It- Appellate-prosecutors only
- Appellate Prosecutors Roundtable-appellate prosecutors only
- How to Properly Question Witnesses on the Credibility of Other Witnesses
- Proper Use of Other Acts Evidence
- Handling Confrontation Clause Issues
- Appellate Forum Meeting-appellate prosecutors only
- Criminal Law Update
