University of Detroit Mercy Law Review is accepting submissions for the annual symposium, "Fallout: The Legal Impact of the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine," on Friday, March 3, 2023, in Detroit.
The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine is a tragic event that has reverberated across the world. Fallout from it impacts a broad variety of legal specialties. While some of these impacts are yet to be fully realized, it is important to begin discussion and analysis of them.
Detroit Mercy Law Review invites academics, scholars, practitioners, and other stakeholders to submit proposals for panel presentation and potential publication on topics involving the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. These may include, but are not limited to, the following: international law, evasion of sanctions using cryptocurrency, legal aspects relating to European reliance on Russian oil, cyberterrorism, and immigration.
Proposals should be approximately 250500 words, double-spaced, and should detail the proposed topic and presentation. Proposals must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Friday, November 4, by email to Bradley Gray, symposium director, at lawreview@udmercy.edu. In the e-mail, applicants should indicate whether the proposal is for a presentation only or if the applicant plans to submit an article based on the presentation for potential publication in the Detroit Mercy Law Review. A current CV or resume should also be included.
Decisions will be emailed on or before Tuesday, November 8. The final completed manuscripts must be submitted by Friday, March 10, 2023, for editing to commence by the Law Review staff.
