Maddin Hauser kicks off its 2023 Breakfast Bites: Tax Law Series with "Roundup of Recent Tax Developments" online Wednesday, January 18, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
As tax season approaches, a refresher on important recent tax developments will help address issues that arise in counseling clients and assisting them with filing their tax returns. During this session, shareholder William E. Sigler will cover common problems and year end guidance, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Corporate Transparency Act.
Sigler centers his practice on business planning, structuring and formation of business entities, mergers and acquisitions, real property acquisitions and dispositions, contract drafting and review, employee benefit plans, executive compensation, and estate and business succession planning.
Sigler is a member of the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Metropolitan Detroit and is active in charitable and bar-related activities. He has served as chairperson of the Oakland County Bar Association Tax and Employee Benefits committees and is a former member of the Board of the Association for Corporate Growth. Sigler has been recognized as a Michigan Leading Lawyer in the areas of closely & privately held business law, employee benefits law, tax law (business, individual and trust), will & estate planning. He has also been recognized as a Noted Practitioner by Chambers USA.
Sigler graduated from Michigan State University in 1980. In 1983, he earned his law degree from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He is a frequent lecturer and has authored many articles.
