The Intellectual Property law firm Reising Ethington PC announces the addition of patent attorney Mike Zalobsky who has more than 25 years of experience and expertise in a full range of mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies.  As part of his practice, Zalobsky prepares and prosecutes patent applications, prepares legal opinions regarding patent validity and infringement, and counsels clients in a wide variety of intellectual property matters.

Zalobsky received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law.

Doll has represented the interests of corporate and private clients in a variety of general negligence, motor vehicle litigation, and premises liability matters for over 30 years. Doll has experience serving as first chair in numerous trials and boasts a high success rate at the appellate court level. In addition to her litigation experience, Doll also serves as a defense evaluator on the Macomb and Wayne County Mediation Panels.

Doll has an active practice in alternative dispute resolution, assisting in the settlement of numerous cases over the past year and saving both counsel and clients the cost and expense of further litigation and trial.

Doll earned her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. Doll is a member of Secrest Wardle’s Alternative Dispute Resolution, General Negligence, Motor Vehicle Litigation, and Premises Liability Practice Groups. She is also an active member of the State Bar of Michigan.

The National Arab American Bar Association Michigan Chapter welcomes Zainab Sabbagh, who will be joining Tarik Turfe, as co-director of Membership and Outreach.

Sabbagh is a commercial litigator at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP and works out Warner’s Detroit office. She regularly represents automotive suppliers and Fortune 500 companies in multi-million dollar disputes. In addition to her automotive supply chain practice, Sabbagh frequently counsels and represents employers in various labor and employment disputes, including lawsuits involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. Her litigation experience spans from state, federal, and appellate courts to private arbitration.

Sabbagh is recognized among the Best Lawyers® Detroit Commercial and Employment Litigation “Ones to Watch” List and was recently appointed to the Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan’s Emerging Leaders Advisory Board.

Prior to joining Warner, Sabbagh served a two-year federal clerkship in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan where she worked for Judge Sean F. Cox.

Intellectual property law firm Fishman Stewart PLLC is pleased to announce that veteran IP attorney Kevin MacKenzie has joined the firm. Immediately prior to joining Fishman Stewart, MacKenzie was a partner in the intellectual property practice of a national AMLAW 200 firm.  The announcement was made by firm Managing Partner Michael Stewart.

MacKenzie has successfully prosecuted and obtained thousands of patent application allowances for clients while advising on trademarks, licensing and copyrights as well as IP strategy, the monetization of IP assets, and litigation, arbitration and mediation for IP matters.  MacKenzie has experience in complex mechanical and electromechanical technologies and systems.

In addition to expertise with respect to mechanical systems and processes, MacKenzie has experience-based understanding of intellectual property protection involving catalytic systems and organic and inorganic chemical processes, fuel cell and battery systems and plastics and polymers, including silicone-based systems and adhesives and urethane chemistry. He will be expanding the firm’s practice in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, batteries, chemical compositions and processes, along with Fishman Stewart of counsel attorney and chemical engineer Ron Citkowski.

MacKenzie earned a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University. He is active in the legal profession and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, State Bar of Michigan Intellectual Property Law Section, the Michigan Patent Law Association, and the Federal Bar Association and a former member of the State Bar of Michigan Intellectual Property Law Committee. He is also a former member of the Europe Liaison Council and Japan Liaison Council and previously served as editor of the State Bar of Michigan IP newsletter, IPLS Proceedings.

Matthew J. Lund,
a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Business Litigation Practice Group, was recently named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Go To Lawyers” for business litigation. Now in its fourth year, the program recognizes top lawyers around the state in a given practice area.

Maddin Hauser
is pleased to announce that Andrew M. Harris has joined the firm as a shareholder. He bring two decades of commercial litigation and real estate experience.

Harris focuses his advocacy on real estate, landlord-tenant, commercial litigation matters and handles cases involving state tax issues and insurance.

In addition to his practice, Harris enjoys a history of public service and active community involvement. He served as an elected member of the Birmingham City Commission from 2015-2019 and as the city’s mayor from 2017-2018. Additionally, Harris is an Oakland County Bar Foundation trustee and former chairman of the Oakland County Bar Association Real Estate Committee. He is also the president of the Birmingham Little League and serves as legal counsel for the Birmingham Hockey Association.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Harris earned his law degrees from Wayne State University Law School.
